Slavic Soul Party is a Brooklyn-based brass band that performs an exciting
blend of traditional Balkan folk music, American Jazz and New Orleans
marching band styles. Chris Comer describes Slavic Soul Party as
"Slobodan Milosevic meets Benny Goodman". And boy, are they a party.
In May 2006 Chris Comer and Rob Ervin talked to Matt Moran, the drummer
and ringleader of Slavic Soul Party, in between sets at their regular Tuesday
night engagement at Barbes in Park Slope. Matt discusses the concept
behind the Party and introduces the band.
